Family and Divorce solicitors. There are certainly plenty of us strutting around. So how and who do you choose to instruct in the end (hourly rates not included), especially when each claim to be the best there is. How many names were deemed worthy of your time and dime after each phone call ?
I can only speak for myself. This is my story in a nutshell and the unusual path I took and the countless humble pies I ate en-route my journey to success…
I started out in the legal profession after having worked in the advertising and hotel industries – both professions I enjoyed immensely. In the latter years however, I succumbed to the calling in the legal profession and found myself back at square one 2 lifetimes later. I needed to do better; I wanted to excel.
After years of re-training and working at the same time in the family law department, l found my vocation as a family law specialist. I listened, I empathised, I argued (a lot), I fought and applied the law, always aiming to be strategic, practical and tactical; not yielding to threats of costs orders and bullish tactics. Above all else, I believe in transparency and being honest with my clients. I refuse to go down a rabbit hole if it makes no logical sense to do so, or to throw good money after bad.
Before becoming a solicitor, I qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives first and am also registered with the Solicitors Regulation Authority. I have specialised in family law throughout my legal career; namely in areas such as ‘custody’ and contact, child arrangements orders, specific issue applications, injunctions, special guardianship, inter-country adoption, divorce and financial settlements, as well as drafting consent orders, cohabitation agreements, pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements. If I have to pick an area or two specialties I am passionate about, it is children matters and domestic violence, hands down.
Whilst I cannot promise you a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, I work very hard to achieve the best possible outcome for all my clients. I have achieved very good success rates and helped build a family department in a Legal 500 firm. I am very grateful to have developed a flourishing family law practice which has received many client commendations. It is a legacy I am very proud to leave behind for my successors. I am also amongst a group of solicitors on the UCLH NHS Foundation Trust whose services are promoted to their staff as part of their benefits package.
As your solicitor, I will advise and assist you every step of the way, endeavouring to pursue your best interests in a most cost-effective manner. There is always hope and light at the end of the tunnel if one is prepared and willing to make that one final push – to fight or make a change, along with the right guidance, expertise and support.
And if It helps, I can also converse in Malay and a Chinese dialect. When I find the time, I enjoy travelling, watching crime thrillers and comedies, and have a fond interest and curiosity for anything creative.
